Richard Harding Davis letters and photograph, 1893-1913.

The collection consist of six items, including: letter to Alden, 4 Mar. 1893, submitting a story for the Christmas edition of the Independent; three letters to Mrs. Scribner, including 29 Jan. 1901, accepting an invitation for a drive; 23 Oct. 1908, arranging to autograph books; 17 Feb. 1913, supporting her but deriding the Progressive Party; to Dear Scribner, 8 April [no year], congratulating him on his return to good health. Also, full-length cabinet card photograph of Davis dressed as war correspondent, with inscription, "'It is my own invention, ' said the White Knight."
